Day’s Program:
* Departure from Roghudi: 7:00 Start the day with an early departure from Roghudi to reach Sicily by ferry across the Strait of Messina. During the crossing, you’ll enjoy stunning views of the strait and the Sicilian coast. Visit to Taormina You’ll arrive in the splendid city of Taormina around 9:30 and begin your visit with a stroll through the historic center. The highlight will be the famous Greek Theatre, an ancient amphitheater with spectacular views of Mount Etna and the Ionian Sea. Built by the Greeks and renovated by the Romans, it is one of Sicily’s most iconic monuments. You’ll have time to explore the charming alleys of the city, shop in local artisan stores, or enjoy a coffee in one of its picturesque squares. Free Time and Lunch In Taormina, you’ll also have free time for lunch, with the chance to enjoy Sicilian cuisine at one of the local restaurants. You can try traditional dishes like pasta alla norma, arancini, or Sicilian cannoli. Excursion to Mount Etna In the afternoon, the trip continues toward Mount Etna, the highest active volcano in Europe. You’ll reach the slopes of the volcano at about 1,900 meters altitude, where you can explore the Silvestri craters, walking through unique and breathtaking volcanic landscapes. For a more adventurous experience, you can take a cable car or special vehicles to reach higher altitudes and get closer to the active craters (optional and not included in the price).
