The Caldaie del Latte are a geological formation located in the Grecanic area of the Aspromonte, near the abandoned village of Roghudi. These natural structures consist of spherical boulders emerging from a single friable rock mass, shaped over time by wind and water erosion.
The name "Caldaie del Latte" (Milk Boilers) comes from a local legend according to which the inhabitants of the area offered boiling milk to a blind dragon that lived in the nearby Rocca del Drago, in order to calm its fury. According to tradition, the boilers were used to heat the milk for the dragon.
Today, the Caldaie del Latte are a point of interest for hikers and geology enthusiasts, offering a unique experience that combines nature and tradition.
